2-14-12

1 Corinthians 13

 ¹ If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. ² If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. ³ If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,but do not have love, I gain nothing.

 ⁴ Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. ⁵ It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. ⁶ Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. ⁷ It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

 ⁸ Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. ⁹ For we know in part and we prophesy in part, ¹⁰ but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. ¹¹ When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. ¹² For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

 ¹³ And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

That pretty much sum's up about what I think about today! 

I have turned to this chapter in the Bible many times.. and I've always gotten something out of it!

Today as I look and think about all the people saying how they don't have a boyfriend or girlfriend,and they are so depressed and there only teenagers.I think how lucky I am to not even have to worry about that! I know that God has the perfect man out there for me (and I've probably haven't even met him yet)! As a christian I know that God know my future and He will guide through it! I don't have to worry about looking for that guy rate now, because I know God will bring him into my life at the perfect time!

Jeremiah 29:11

¹¹ For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Memorizing

I've been doing a ton of memorizing! My brain is just about fried! For Caddie Woodlawn we have to have the whole 1st act memorized by the 20th of this month! And I have like all of my lines(as Rebekah Hyman a.k.a rude neighbor ) in that act so I've been reciting them like everyday for who nows how long.. ;)


~My memorizing techniques are 
1.) read a part then say it like three times and then read another part of it and add it together and then say it three time and eventually I have the whole thing! =)
2,) I read it over and over.(that's what I do for really long ones,such as monologues.)
3,) I have Teresa read the parts before mine,and we go through the whole scene that I'm in...


~During all this I also memorize the peoples lines that are before mine so that way we can help each other out if one of us messes up and we also know when to say our lines,and then we don't have that weird awkward silence in the middle of the play...


~I think one of my main thing that bugs be in a play where they mess up:when a person forgets their line and the other person tries to mouth it to them!! ughhh! it drives me nuts! =|

Wisdom

 

¹ My son, if you accept my words

Proverbs 2:1-5

I just read this verse this morning and I really,really like it!

Declares the Lord

Yes I know i haven't "posted" in 10 days.. how did you ever survive ;)
well to put it plainly I've been sick since this last Sunday with the stomach flu and then a cold. blahh. I haven't been doing much,but I did start a new thing (sort-of)
 Every day I go the the books of Psalms,Proverbs,Isaiah,or Jeremiah and I find a verse to go with that day.
Like today i did Jeremiah 2:3 The chapter is for the month as in February,and the verse is the day as in the 3rd of February. So all in all you have a verse for today! I thought it was pretty ingenious!(not trying to get a big head or anything!:}) 


This was today's verse:


    Israel was holy to the LORD, 
   the firstfruits of his harvest; 
all who devoured her were held guilty, 
   and disaster overtook them,’” 
            declares the LORD.

                Jeremiah 2:3

I've been trying to think about what this means... I think that what Jeremiah is saying is that the Israelite are God's chosen people and if anyone messes with them they will be held accountable. A website that I found explains it even better HERE.

 so that's plan and I'm sticken to it!
